Australia is rich in history dating back to 1836 when the
first settlers arrived at Kangaroo Island on 20th of July
and declared South Australia a province on 28th of December.

546 persons.

the First Savings Bank was established March 6. Ten years
later, total savings bank funds stood at and impressive
£14,785, a not insignificant amount in those days.
The first winery
was established in the Barossa Valley in 1847 and laid the
foundations for the great wine industry that sets South
Australia apart from the rest today.
Adelaide was
connected to Melbourne by the "new fangled telegraph"
in 1857 which was also the year that the first parliament
sat.
